On May 31, 4th grade students participated in "Idiom Day". Students dressed up as an idiom of their choice, and let others guess their meaning. This was such a fun way to learn about figurative language in a way that they will never forget!
Some idioms represented were:
Tough cookie
Break a leg
Raining cats and dogs
I've got bigger fish to fry
Cold shoulder
Chip on my shoulder
That's the last straw!
Tickled pink
Liar, Liar pants on fire!
You can count on me!
Spilling the beans
